9.1.2022 - this in under revamp.. starting to realize that while its realistic, its kind of undoable as it is for most harpg timelines.. sooo gonna put a horse through it all the way to see how it can be fixed!

Training System is still under soft review, think I have it right where I want it now though.

Daily / Training Images:

Basic Handling*: 10-20mins a "session"
Groundwork: 30-65 mins a session
Riding Work:
--> Arena Setting: 30-65 mins a session
--> Outdoor Setting: 30-90 mins a session (example: open field/pasture)
--> Trail Setting: 60-120mins a session

Show Entries:

In-Hand Classes: 10-20mins
Under Saddle Arena Classes: 15-30mins
Under Saddle Outdoor Classes**: 30-90mins

1 - Untouched // 3 hours or less
2 - Gentled // 4 - 6 hours
3 - Halter Broke // 7 - 10 hours
4 - Green Broke // 11 - 15 hours
5 - Well Started //  16-20 hours
6 - Intermediate //  21-25 hours
7 - Well Broke  //  26-30 hour
8 - Futurity Prospect  // 31-40 hours
9 - Advanced  // 41-65 hours
10 - Bridled (Finished/Professional Athlete) // 66+ hours

1: Untouched. Almost literally. This is most common when the horses are foals / weanlings or in ferals (like mustangs or mutants of some kind). This horse has very little training or handling.

2: Gentled. This horse has had some handling and can technically be haltered, led, and handled for daily care, but it would not necessarily be considered the safest though. It should be left to pretty experienced handlers.

3: Halter Broke. This horse has mastered the basics of ground manners. For example: grooming, leading, lounging, backing in-hand, bathing, trailering, clipping, etc. Normal daily activities involving horse care. This horse is considered safe to handle and may be ready for more.

4: Green Broke. This horse has started the "breaking-in" training. This is where most of the bomb-proofing and introduction to training equipment starts. For Example, wearing a saddle/bridle, accepting a rider (at w/t/c), ground driving (long-lining), tying back, reining back, etc. This horse is not considered safe and requires experienced/advanced riders. It is not advised that this horse be ridden outside a safe setting before learning basic riding commands.

5: Well Started. This horse has begun learning what it means to be a riding horse. The horse has mastered things like turning, bending, stopping, backing, mounting, dismounting, speed control, etc. Nothing advanced, just mastering the basic skills. This horse has likely started venturing outside the arena for more exciting adventures and has started to really transform into a solid riding partner.

6: Intermediate. This horse can easily perform all of the basic commands from the rider. Creating finesse of the basic skills and building upon them for more advanced commands. This horse has likely been introduced to, but not mastered: body control (side passing, hip control, shoulder in/out, etc), collection, extension, etc.

7: Well Broke. This horse has started adding polish to their intermediate commands. Learning more difficult skills like trot/canter to stop, backing circles or corners, stop to canter, collection etc. Has extensive trail (real world) riding experience. Considered safe for a beginner rider.

8: Futurity Prospect. Horse has been introduced to discipline specific commands. They are in constant practice of these things, but the skills are not considered "mastered". Horse is starting to understand all the concepts of his job, but does not perform automatically like a finished horse and still needs some support from the rider. Commonly taken to smaller, open shows for exposure and experience.

9: Advanced. Horse can easily perform all skills that are relevant to the horses future career. They could be jumping poles or chasing cattle. Can maintain collection, side-pass with ease, running on the pattern, etc. At this point, hes beginning to understand whats expected of him in the training pen because he is starting to become comfortable in his job. This horse has finished all of the training for his discipline, just needs a little more polish and show experience.

10: Bridled/Professional Athlete. This horse has been properly trained and fit to not only wear and respond correctly to equipment that his job will require, but they have also begun their specific training for the career ahead. Horse may have 1-10 discipline specific training images, showing them perform tasks directly related to their work. For example, cutting cattle, jumping over jumps/combos, passage, piaffe, extended trot, trail obstacles, on the rail in western pleasure, etc. May also have more regular show experience (1-3 effort show entries).

*basic handling is for just every day type art that is not considered training but would add to the horses experience in daily life (like grooming, turn out, show extras, breeding images, etc.)

**this is for things like cross country, extreme cowboy, competitive trail, endurance, etc. nothing held in an arena! arena style classes in an open field do not count, run it as an arena class.
